Meeting the NASA Administrator in Bulgaria

On October 21, 2024, as part of the HELLO SPACE  initiative, Bulgaria welcomed NASA Administrator Bill Nelson for the first time. The event was organized with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria and the Student Diplomatic Club and took place at Sofia University, one year after Bulgaria joined the Artemis Accords.

In his speech, Bill Nelson spoke about the future of space exploration, NASA’s work, the Artemis program, and his own professional career, after which he answered questions from students and guests.

Following the lecture, Dr. Solomon Passy conducted an exclusive interview with the NASA administrator in the renovated “The Egg” hall at Sofia University – another highlight that reaffirms HELLO SPACE | NASA CALLING as a key platform for bringing Bulgarian youth together with the highest echelons of global space policy and science.
